Frank AlbrechtFrank Albrecht, Chief Executive Officer, Albr3cht Supply Concepts
Frank Albrecht, founder and executive director of Albr3cht Supply Concepts, is a business generalist with an affinity for marketing and sales. The 41-year-old father of two was previously Sales Director Continental Europe at Nynas in Brussels.

Frank completed a commercial apprenticeship, followed by extra-occupational economic studies. After four years as director of sales at C. H. Erbsloeh in Krefeld, Albrecht moved to Nynas.

During his employment, Frank was vice-president of ARBIT, the industry association of bitumen producing companies in Germany, and became a member of the executive committee and treasurer of Eurobitume, the umbrella organisation of the European bitumen industry in Brussels.

Liz Bossley
Liz Bossley, Chief Executive Officer, CEAG
Liz has a 30-year career in international energy markets, spanning trading and marketing, management of marketing departments and extensive experience of negotiating transportation, lifting and joint-venture agreements.

She set up the Consilience Energy Advisory Group in 1999. In addition to providing business advisory services, Liz has acted as an expert witness in a range of trading disputes. She is a regular conference speaker and contributor to industry journals.

Etienne le Bouteiller
Étienne le Bouteiller, Technical & Development Manager (International), COLAS
Étienne le Bouteiller graduated as a civil engineer in 1975 in Paris, France (École Centrale de Paris) where he obtained a Masters Degree in Engineering Geology in 1976.

For the last 31 years, he has worked with Colas, the world leading company for road construction and maintenance.

Since 1995, he has been Technical and Development Manager within the International Division of the Group. Étienne chairs the International Commission of the French Bitumen Emulsion Producers Association. He is also Technical Co-ordinator of the International Bitumen Emulsion Federation.

Ramon Carrasco

Allen R. Pinto, General Manager, Richmond Mercantile
Captain Pinto has 17 years experience in the merchant navy, most of it on chemical and product tankers.

He joined UAE-based Richmond Group in 1999, where he is in charge of shipping and logistics. In addition to the commercial management of the group’s three bulk bitumen tankers and chartered vessels, he co-ordinates and supports the group’s bulk bitumen trading and supply operations in southeast Asia, Australia, India and the Mideast Gulf. Prior to joining Richmond, Allen worked as general manager of marine surveying companies Seascan and ITS Caleb Brett.

Allen is a member of the institute of chartered shipbrokers (MICS), and has completed a diploma in the management of ship operations from Strathclyde University in the UK.


Ramon CarrascoRamon Carrasco, Chief Executive Officer, Lia Oil
Ramon Carrasco is an economist and lawyer who trained at ICADE in Madrid. He has worked at Cepsa in Madrid, where he was Heavy Desk Manager and responsible for bunkering supply for nine years, then joined El Paso (formerly Coastal Petroleum) in Madrid as General Manager for the Mediterranean region for three years. He joined Lia Oil SA and was Trading Manager for six years, and has been chief executive since March 2009.

Keyvan Hedvat
Keyvan Hedvat, Deputy European Editor - Asphalt, Argus
Keyvan Hedvat joined Argus in June 2007 as part of the company’s European oil products team, reporting on naphtha, jet fuel and distillate markets before switching to coverage of the fuel oil market. He has also been involved in reporting on European and African asphalt markets since 2009, editing the Europe/Africa section of the weekly Argus Asphalt Report and helping to develop and enhance it.

Before Argus, Keyvan spent 10 years as a senior energy correspondent with Reuters news agency in London, reporting on physical and swaps markets for the full spectrum of oil products, and led a team of products reporters. He previously reported on the petrochemicals and oil products markets at the London office of Dow Jones.

 

Mark Lewis Mark Lewis, Managing Director - London, Energy Market Consultants (EMC)
Mark is the managing director of Energy Market Consultants (EMC), which is part of Facts Global Energy.

Lewis co-founded EMC in 1989, having previously worked at international consultancy PEL. He successfully managed the establishment and expansion of EMC, providing independent economic and strategic advice to a range of clients, including oil majors, independent refiners, financial institutions and producer state oil companies. He has extensive experience in assessing the changing market environment and advising clients on strategic and investment options.

Mark has overseen and authored numerous studies, covering a wide range of international issues and downstream market assessments. These have included investment opportunities in European and Asia-Pacific storage facilities, refining evaluation, analysis of compulsory stockholding regulations and projecting international products trade flows.

Gülay Malkoc, Technical Director, Turkish Asphalt Contractors Association (ASMUD)Gulay Malkoc
Gulay Malkoc is a Gazi University (Turkey) graduate and trained chemical engineer. After having worked in the General Directorate of Highways Technical Research Department as Deputy Manager of the Materials Laboratory, she has since worked for the industry sector as the Technical Director General of the Turkish Asphalt Contractors Association.

Gulay has published several papers on bituminous binders, bitumen emulsions and polymer modified binders at a national and international level. She is an independent evaluator for EU FP7 Projects and Chairman of the Turkish Mirror Committee of CEN 336. Gulay started working for the European Asphalt Pavement Association (EAPA) at the beginning of 2010 to support the EAPA Secretariat in addition to her chairmanship of the HSE Committee.

 

Carlo GiavariniCarlo Giavarini, President, Italian Asphalt Association (Siteb)
Carlo Giavarini is professor of petroleum and natural gas technology and head of the department of chemical engineering at La Sapienza - University of Rome. He is also director of the Cistec research centre, and since 1993, president of Siteb, the Italian asphalt association. Professor Giavarini established engineering company Trecon in 1993, and has undertaken a number of research and industrial projects with Italian and foreign companies. He is the author of more than 270 papers, books and patents on petroleum and natural gas technology, and bitumen, among others.


Ronnie MuthusamyRonnie Muthusamy, Bitumen and Chemicals Marketing Manager, Engen Petroleum
Ronnie has a total of 29 years industrial experience in food, medical and petrochemical environments.

He joined Engen Petroleum in 1989 from the Sasol Synthetic Fuels Refinery and has held various positions within the company. Currently, Ronnie is the Bitumen and Chemicals Marketing Manager within Engen’s International Business Division. He has represented the industry in various forums related to the transportation of bitumen as well as in the development of technical guidelines and specifications.

Andreas Porner
Andreas Pörner, Chief Executive Officer, Pörner Group
Andreas Pörner is the managing shareholder of Pörner Ingenieurgesellschaft, Vienna, Austria.

After his final degree, Andreas started his professional career as project engineer for Austria´s leading power and process plant contractors ELIN and Voestalpine — he changed from civil to process plant engineering and project management.

With 20 years of practical experience in projects in Europe, Asia and the ex-USSR, he developed specialised knowledge in bitumen processing and chemistry. Today, Andreas and his team are focusing on the development of economic solutions to produce more and better bitumen for refineries all over the world.

Süha SolakoğluSüha Solakoğlu, Production Planning Manager, Tupras
Süha Solakoğlu graduated from Middle East Technical University in Turkey as a chemical engineer in 1973, before obtaining a masters degree in business administration from Hacettepe University in 1976.

He started working at Turkish refiner Tupras in 1978 as a process engineer, before becoming technical services supervisor, technical services manager and, most recently, production planning manager.
Tupras owns Turkey’s four oil refineries. The firm was privatised in 2006.

Nasreen Tasker
Nasreen Tasker, Editor - Argus Asphalt Report, Argus
Nasreen Tasker was hired by Argus over 12 years ago to create, edit and launch the first international report on weekly bitumen pricing — the Argus Asphalt report — which is still the only weekly on international bitumen pricing. Argus Asphalt has a global circulation and is used by many companies in contracts.

Before joining Argus, she headed the bitumen department at consulting company Poten and Partners. Her consulting responsibilities included giving presentations to major overseas and domestic clients on industry fundamentals, trends and prices. She performed special market studies for clients to determine the feasibility of entering new markets, and was responsible for the editorial content of all asphalt publications. Prior to Poten, she worked at Phibro Energy in the Planning and Business Development Department, where she performed acquisition and joint-venture opportunity analysis on foreign and domestic energy companies. Her petroleum industry career started with Conoco, in the management development training programme in their supply and distribution department.

She has chaired several bitumen conferences, done numerous bitumen presentations, and written many articles on the bitumen market.

Chris Tudge, Director, AsphaltosChris Tudge
Chris Tudge has 22 years experience of shipping and trading bitumen products. His introduction to the bitumen business came with Shell Trading in Barbados in 1989-94, where he was responsible for Shell’s bitumen shipping and trading in the Caribbean.

From 1994 to 2004, he worked as vice-president for international sales and marketing with Sargeant Marine in Florida, USA, a position that gave him experience of the business in many parts of the world including Asia, Europe, Africa and the Americas. In 2004, he joined Asphaltos Trade, where he has helped build the company’s shipping and trading business. Asphaltos currently operates six bitumen tankers on a time-charter basis and has customers in Europe, the Mediterranean, north and west Africa, and South America.

Wojciech PrażuchWojciech Prażuch, Head of Foreign Trade, LOTOS Asfalt
Wojciech became Head of Foreign Trade at Poland’s Lotos Asphalt in September 2009, responsible for bitumen sales to foreign markets. He graduated from the Silesian Institute of Technology in Gliwice, Poland, with an MSc in mechanical engineering. He started his career working for international power companies like ABB and Alstom — where he was service engineer, sales manager and finally boiler service manager. He joined Lotos Asphalt in 2006, with responsibility for export market development.

 

Mikhail PerfilovMikhail Perfilov, Business Development Director, Argus
Mikhail was born in Moscow and studied at the Moscow Institute for Automobiles and Highways, and the Moscow State University of Education — where he graduated with a degree in Psychology. Mikhail worked in energy research and shipping for 16 years. He is responsible for Argus’ business development in Russia. Argus is the largest specialised price discovery service in the former Soviet Union, with over 50 staff in Russia, Kazakhstan and Ukraine, and 10 Russian-language publications. Argus publishes daily price assessments for paving bitumen at 18 refineries in Russia.
